Miguel
When Miguel came to us, he had one clear goal: to get back in real shape after putting it off for fifteen years.
Miguel runs a busy prosthodontics practice in Boston and is raising two kids. He hadn't meaningfully exercised in fifteen years, and had every excuse lined up for why now still wasn't the time , a demanding practice, a full family life, no spare hours in the day.
What actually changed things wasn't finding extra time. It was changing what his existing time was for. "I stopped waiting for conditions to improve, and I changed my conditions," Miguel said. He didn't suddenly find three hours a day or go on a retreat, he changed the time he went to bed, and what he did on his days off. He changed the structure around the habit, not the willpower behind it.
The result was a 62 lb transformation — a complete physiological change most people would call unrecognisable.
The clearest proof came somewhere he wasn't expecting it: at a dental conference he'd attended for years, a colleague looked straight at him and said, "You look familiar - have I met you before?" He wasn't joking. He genuinely didn't recognise him. Miguel described what changed in plain terms: "I'm the main producer in this business. If I'm not sharp, the whole thing suffers." He'd been running at a degraded level for years without knowing what operating at full capacity actually felt like — until he got there.
